Enterasys Networks to Deploy Service Contract Management Solution from Encover MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., (November 10, 2003) – Encover, Inc., a provider of software applications that help manufacturers collaborate with their channel partners to maximize revenue from service indepenent contracts, today announced that Enterasys Networks Inc. (NYSE: ETS), a global provider of Business-Driven Networks for enterprise-class customers, has licensed Encover software. Enterasys selected Encover to improve management of support contract renewal processes both internally and at distribution partner sites worldwide. This solution advances one of Enterasys' corporate objectives of driving more business through the channel and becoming an even easier company for channel partners to do business with. "Encover offers us a robust solution that integrates well with our existing ERP and sales force automation applications," explained Tom Bunce, Vice President of Customer Advocacy, Enterasys. "While traditional enterprise applications help us track internal customer data, Encover will improve our view of the installed customer base and will help drive process automation across the demand chain. The true beneficiaries of the Encover solution will be our customers and our channel partners as we fundamentally improve the way we do business with them." Encover Automates Processes That Traditionally Require 'Brute Force' Traditional service contract renewal processes require a 'brute force' effort, where administrators attempt to reach out to the entire installed base. Employees must manually manipulate spreadsheets in an inefficient, time consuming process that attempts to combine information from a combination of paper-based files and scattered legacy software data. The problems with this approach are that it does not provide a single, unified view of the installed base and it is difficult to manage this process in a growing company. These manual processes provide no way for service sales and administrative staff members to know when data is missing or inaccurate, or even which customers to reach within the appropriate time frames. Enterasys will use Encover to help identify specific customer service contracts that need to be renewed, then send targeted communications to those customers and drive customers to a self-service Encover Customer Portal where the renewal can be completed automatically. The same capabilities are extended to channel partners through Encover Reseller Portals. The Encover solution will integrate with Enterasys' sales force automation application, and with the company's ERP system, SAP R/3. "With a large and growing focus on channel partners for
worldwide distribution of its products, Enterasys intends to
leverage our applications to proactively engage partners in
important, revenue-generating aspects of the business: service
maintenance contracts," said Chip Overstreet, president
& CEO of Encover, Inc. "Twenty four months ago, the
top business mandate was to cut costs; today's mandate
is 'drive revenue'. Encover provides a cost effective,
rapidly deployed solution to help businesses accomplish that
mandate." About Encover, Inc. Encover, Inc. provides applications that help manufacturers collaborate with their channel partners to sell more service contracts into their installed base. Encover's founders designed and built Cisco's award-winning Service Contract Center, which enabled customers to renew service contracts over the Web and provided Cisco with 65% of incremental service revenue over the first two years of operation. High-tech manufacturers that include Juniper Networks have used Encover's applications to increase renewal revenues, reduce the cost of sales and increase visibility into their installed base.
